I recived this book early as an ARC (advanced reader copy) in exchange for my honest review.
Wicked Sea + Sky is the first book in the Curse of Ever book series by Jenna Collett. Wicked Sea and Sky is a standalone in it’s own series, but is connected to the Ever Dark, Ever Deadly series by Jenna.
This book drops you right into the chaos, in the middle of a tresure heist and introduces you to the main characters immediately. There is lust, longing, action, despair, chaos, and so much more that fits so well together. I rated this book 5 stars like I have rated every other book I have read by Jenna.
There is romance and fantasy, its a long story, but a quick read because you won’t be able to put it down. You can start with this book, but I highly recommend reading The Ever Dark, Ever Deadly series first, then this book, and then the second Curse of Ever book which will be released in May 2026!
You will be introduced to mermaids, cursed objects, under sea mayhem, beanstalks, giants, found family, and a MMC who falls hard and fast.
This story is gripping and will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. With a mind-blowing twist at the end that you never expected that might make you cry. At least it made me tear up. The back and forth, and miscommunication trope usually annoys me, but Jenna has a way of making it work well for the story.
If you like storybook retellings, this is the story for you. She mixes stories so well with new story lines, and gives just the right amount of storybook vibes with her own storytelling.
